It has been a
bizarre week for us all. The impact of Coronavirus has hit us all very hard,
both professionally and personally, and will undoubtedly change the way we live
both now and for some time in the future. The impact is being felt far and
wide, but we are all in this together and will come through the other side,
hopefully for the better.
We’ve watched in
shock at the monumental amounts of cash being drawn from the economy, seeing unimaginable
numbers quoted by government to be used to help.
A day doesn’t go by
without worry and concern, it matters to each end every one of us. For those
that own and/or manage businesses, the cashflow impact and the detrimental
affect it is having on our employee’s wellbeing is heart-breaking especially
when the situation is out of our control.
We’ve been told
that no Island businesses will go under, that’s some statement and quite a
promise with a daily changing situation. All we can do, as business owners, is
pull together and support each other in these troubling times.
The real positive
effect of this is how we are realising how important every business is to society.
We are seeing communities pulling together and, as individuals, we are looking
out for each other far more than ever before. Perhaps, when this is all over,
we will look back and see this as a turning point in our busy world, a time
when we realised how fragile each and everyone of us really is when the
unexpected happens, but also a wakeup call as to what really is important to
all of us.
We all know the
impact of this sudden and unexpected crisis has been impossible to make
contingencies for and will never have even been considered in any business
continuity planning and with that in mind we cannot reinforce enough that…….
the team here at GS
are on hand to help and support as best we can. We may well have had to
restrict face to face meetings in the offices (for obvious reasons!) but, that
doesn’t stop you getting in touch and we will do our best to offer help,
support and guidance through these troubled times.
Stay safe, take
care and look after those loved ones.
